About Me

I am John's proud youngest sister. Unforeseen circumstances mean that I now live in the northeast of Scotland with my husband, dog and cat, and very occasionally these days, 2 children.

About Me

I've known John since the mid 70's when he briefly lived in Grand Cascapedia, Quebec, where I was born and raised. He is a dear old friend, a fine piano teacher, a musical scholar, and a brilliant composer - a true and genuine artist. Nice guy, too. And smart as a whip. He has introduced me to so much great music (from Mozart to Motown), art and literature in my lifetime. Thanks John.

About Me

I treasure most my roles as a husband of 41 years, father of 4, and grandfather of 6 (so far). I composed hundreds, if not 1000+, poems over the years. In retirement, I'm working on revising, organizing, and hopefully publishing them. I have strong interests in art, music and photography, although I'm not greatly talented in those areas. I like integrating poetry with my other interests. I prefer classical music and opera, but have been known to listen to selected compositions of folk muisic, jazz, rock-and-roll, etc. I have composed a couple of simple songs for pre-school children and orchestrated music for a children's small ensemble and band. I took piano lessons from the Starks, as did John Plant, and studied clarinet with our grade school principal. Certain nuerological and physical issues, in addition to lack of natural talent, limit my performance abilities.

My advanced education cosists of an A.B. (geology) from Franklin and Marshall, Masters' degree (geology) from University of Massachusetts, and a Ph.D. (mathematics) from University of Texas at Arlington. I spent 30 years working for the U.S. government as a geologist/mathematical modeler. I have published a number of articles in journals and conference proceedings. I still work on projects of personal interest, especially in mathematics, I also advise a medical research team in probablility/statistics and occasionally other consulting work.

My wife and I apply our child-raising skills, such as they are (hers much superior to mine). We take in foster children on a respite basis. That is quite a challenge! We also researched legal issues related to foster care work, developed a PowerPoint presentation, and presented it at a training session for case workers and clinicians.
